Minetest 5.4.0 makes it much Easier to Download Mods and Games.
Minetest is a open source and free Voxel game engine, influenced originally by Minecraft it's gradually becoming bigger and better with lots of games that are available for it. A new version is in the works with Minetest 5.4.0 which is now a Release Candidate and a time at which they'll need as many users as possibly to test it out and ensure it is working as intended.
Back when Minetest 5.0 released in 2019, they added an in-game UI to download games and mods. It worked, and they improved it with every release, but the biggest pain point was the dependency system. One mod required another, and another was required, and the list goes on. It used to be difficult to locate the entire collection however, it's now much simpler. Screamyguy.Net The 5.4 release features a new interface to download mods and games and mods, as well as dependency resolution, an update all capabilities, and download queues.
It's simple and effective.
It can make it a huge amount simpler, and faster too. This allows you to have your Minetest experience exactly how you would like it. Do you want to squeeze every mod you can think of into the core Minetest game? You should try it. Do you want to test an entire game of conversion? You can also try the whole game of conversion.
This might actually get me to play more Minetest!
